Suri Trading proudly contributed toward the construction of the new Reliance Settlement Sanatan Mandir, supporting the continued growth and preservation of spiritual and cultural life within the East Berbice community.
The Reliance Settlement Sanatan Mandir, which has served the community since 1935, is one of the oldest mandirs in Berbice. Over the years, the wooden structure has deteriorated significantly, making extensive repairs necessary. Due to the high cost of restoration, the management and devotees have taken the important decision to construct a new concrete temple that will continue to serve thousands of worshippers for generations to come.
The new mandir will feature several key improvements designed to better serve the community, including:
• A wider altar to accommodate deities separately on stands, allowing for traditional murti bathing (abhishekam) rituals.
• A dedicated stage for musicians and singers during religious services.
• Wheelchair access to ensure inclusivity for devotees.
• Washroom facilities.
• A kitchen and eating area separate from the worship area.
• Storage facilities.
• A new fence and parking area.
As part of its continued commitment to corporate social responsibility, Suri Trading is honored to support this meaningful project that strengthens cultural heritage and community unity.
As a proud Guyanese-owned company, Suri Trading has steadily grown into a trusted household name, offering a diverse range of quality food and beverage products under the Suri brand. Beyond business, the company remains deeply committed to investing in people, culture, and community development, recognizing that initiatives such as the construction of places of worship play an important role in building a stronger and more vibrant Guyana.
Suri Trading extends its best wishes to the management and devotees of the Reliance Settlement Sanatan Mandir and looks forward to seeing the new temple become a lasting symbol of faith, unity, and community service for generations to come.
